My father George Norton was an apprentice officer in the Merchant Navy, his ship the SS Empire March was torpedoed on 02/01/1943 When he was 17 years old.
I found these two postcards which he sent to my Grandmother during his time as a Japanese POW and several other documents after he passed away aged 84 in 2010.
The congratulations to Peggy and Tommy mentioned in the second postcard was for his sister and brother in law on their wedding.
