Capt Kenneth Baker to his father

Kenny was my mother’s favourite brother. After Ken was killed she kept all his letters (to both parents, but primarily to his Dad. who had been in the same regiment). I have all his drawings, poetry and school info up to the time he was posted to India. I have his CO’s letter to my grandmother about how he was killed, the telegram from the King, letters from the War Graves Commission about his burial (and reburial in Yanggon) and a large number of photos and documents. This letter written in Nov ’44 to ‘My Dear Dad’ .. “in case anything happens to me” has a backing to the Air Mail envelope of an Indian Army Christmas greeting. It is one of many letters home, but this was so relevant as he was killed just 2 months later in Jan ’45.
