My grandfather was in Duke of Wellington regiment and went to North Africa, Palestine and the battle of Monte Casino. He returned from the war but sadly died at 52 of lung cancer. I’m not surprised he smoked though after what he went through. This is a picture of my nan holding my dad George Hartfield sent to my grandfather Frank.
