Ingleborough Community Centre: 8 May 2025
11.00am wreath laying at the Ingleton War Memorial.
3.00pm Film screening : A Royal Night Out.
Two Princesses explore London on the evening of VE Day.
Followed by short tea/coffee break.
World War themed talks.
5.00pm Andrew Brooks : Ingleton War Memorial.
5.30pm James Gaunt : Operation Pluto.
6.00pm village picnic/street party, to include disco and children’s
Activities. Bring your own picnic!
6.00-7.30pm tea/coffee at the Community Centre.
Bar also available.
6.30pm St Mary’s Church bell peal.
7.30pm Runners set off for Ingleborough to light the official
Beacon.
8.00-8.15pm short prayer service with all of Ingleton’s churches.
9.00pm Beacon lighting on Ingleborough and at the
Community Centre.
10.00pm event ends.
The contribution of VE Day veterans will also be acknowledged during village church services on Sunday 11 May.
