Church service at 7.30pm to commemorate and also celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in Europe. Commencing with a wreath laying service then a celebration with singing and acting of wartime songs from Paul Cohen productions. A beacon will be lit at 9.30pm from the top of the church tower by the Mayor’s Cadet, Marine Cadet Murphy Hall, as will be done simultaneously across the United Kingdom and Commonweath countries. After the Beacon lighting there will be free refreshments in church.
