Highlanders Museum VE Day Exhibition

This year is the 80th Anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe) and the end of WW2 in Europe.

In celebration of this great occasion, our team here at the Highlanders Museum has been hard at work putting together the final touches to our new temporary exhibition on VE Day.

The exhibition will running throughout the summer. Come along and learn how the war ended in different countries throughout Europe. Discover the special relationship between the soldiers of the Seaforth Highlanders and Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders and the Dutch people they liberated. See how for the Camerons in Greece, the fighting intensified as they found themselves caught in a horrific civil war. Learn how a Seaforth Highlander took the surrender of German troops in Norway; alongside the Norwegian resistance fighters he had served with during the war. All this and more to discover in our new exhibition.

Do come along to see it when you can, here at the Highlanders Museum, Fort George.
