Join us on Sunday 11 May in Perth city centre for a range of commemorative activities to mark and celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe.
The day begins at 9am with the raising of the VE Day 80 flag and laying of wreaths at the Veterans Memorial, St John Street, Perth, followed by a second flag-raising and wreath laying at 9.30am at the 51st Memorial on the North Inch.
St John’s Kirk is also hosting a service of commemoration from 11am-12.15pm, while between 10am and 3pm the neighbouring streets of St John Street, St John’s Place, King Edward Street and High Street, will be filled with vintage military vehicles on display, re-enactors and performances from Perth and District Pipe Band, Perthshire Brass and The McAndrew Sisters.
