Doreen Griffiths to her father Henry Griffiths

My mother Doreen, aged 91, born in 1933. She sent this letter to her dad, Henry Griffiths, when she was aged 8. He kept the letter with him whilst in Folkestone, on the big guns. He was in the Royal Artillery and had to shoot down planes and boats. She remembers him staying in the hospital there because of an injury to his thumb, he was in severe pain and nearly lost his hand. He suffered terribly with his nerves.

The photo is of her with her father, Henry.
