VE Day 80th Anniversary Tea Party
To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day we will be holding a Community Tea Party at the Kingsley Holt Centre on Monday 5th May from 1pm till 4pm.
You are welcome to bring your own picnic and drinks, or we will have sandwiches, cakes and drinks available to purchase on the day.
We would like to make a memory montage. If you have any photos of those that served, photos from that time. Your memories of VE Day, or memories from loved ones, then we would love to have copies of these to display at the Tea Party. Please get in touch with us, so we can take copies and return the originals to you.
You can come along in your 1940s attire, and we will also be holding a collection for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity during the day.
5 years ago, the 75th anniversary of VE Day took place during strict lockdown, and we had to have socially distanced picnics on our own drives. So, this time, let’s all get together to celebrate this special day.
