When my father died in 2003 my sister Barbara and I discovered an enormous cache of letters between our mum Ilma and Albert.
They were devoted to each other and married on March 17 1945. From the context and enormity of these letters it was fairly obvious that these communications were a vital part of their mental and physical survival.
We are so grateful for their brave and loyal services to our nation, always in our hearts.
