This is a letter from my father to my mother and her parents informing them of Victory in Europe dated May 7th 1945.
I found the letter, written on fragile airmail paper in my parents effects after they died along with his medals and other memorabilia from the war, including a programme from a Gracie Fields concert held in the Opera House Rome on Sunday Nov 11th -Armistice day- 1945.
The attached photo is of my father – George Scott Lamb- in his army uniform and with his medals aged 88yrs approx
