Llandovery remembers the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day on Saturday 3 May from 10am till 2pm. Farmers, crafters and street food will all be there on Llandovery’s historic Market Square. Music from the 1940s will play all day and traders will dress-up in 1940s fashion. Customers and visitors are encouraged to dress-up too. Kitsch n Sync will entertain with 3 performance pieces during the day and a flashmob of swing dancers will join in too!
Market Manager Raoul Bhambral said,
“80 years ago on the 8th of May, World War II ended in Europe. It’s important we remember what happened. This market on the 3rd of May is Llandovery’s tribute to those times of peace when people can celebrate.”
There will be around 20 local producer stalls on the day with a wide range of produce. Customers can expect fresh greens and veg, jams, award-winning marmalades, chutneys, honey, gluten-free cakes, award-winning goats and sheep cheese, meats such as lamb, mutton, pork and award-winning beef and woodworked kitchenware.
Cider and spirits will be available as well as fruit trees and herbs, wildlife friendly plants and fresh flowers. Customers will also be able to buy crafted silver jewellery and goats milk care products.
There will be a wide range of street food ranging from small snacks like sausage rolls and pasties to pies, pizzas and salads.
