James Turner to his fiancée Ivy

My family discovered war memorabilia on the sad death of our father James Arthur Turner. The items were all kept neatly in a box which included many letters, photos and newspaper cuttings collected for posterity fie future generations to enjoy It was written by him to my Mother ( at the time they were engaged to be married). His location was in the Rhine and even after VE Day he was still in service in December 1945.

His expression of love for our mum is clear in his card – hoping that by Christmas 1946, they would finally be together
