We will be commemorating VE DAY with a Beacon lighting ceremony. This event will start with music from Durham Constabulary Brass Band followed by a short prayer from Fr Kyle then a Victory in Europe speech from Colonel Arthur Charlton, followed by a speech from Parish Clerk Sam Shippen. The hymn ‘I vow to thee my country’ will be sung by john Harper as Colonel Arthur Charlton lights the Beacon at 21.30.
