Edward Cecil Sawyer to his later fiancée, Cathleen Dixon

Jack, a soldier from Hull, received two letters so passed one on to Dad. He started sending regular letters, some appear to be mainly jokes. Dad was a musician, and then a medical assistant. He was captured in France, and ended in Stalag 8b in Poland. There was one doctor, from New Zealand, and a number of assistants.

He was repatriated early I believe via Austria, to Scotland, probably with wounded men, so was in London for VE Day. Mam joined him in London, when he was demobbed, he came to Hull and they married.

We have a small case, a box of letters and a photo album.
