Come and hear well known local historian and author Neil Storey present “The War in the Far East” at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, 16th August 2025 at All Saints Church, Church Lane, Hemblington near Blofield, Norwich, Norfolk NR13 4EF.
Neil will outline the events leading up to the ending of the Second World War, recalling personal family histories as well as a wide overview of the time. His illustrated presentation will be followed by a talk “HMS Persimmon in the Indian Ocean 1943 – 1946 – the story of a troop landing ship and her crew in the context of the war against Japan”.
This is a free event and all are welcome to help us commemorate VJ Day. The medieval church has level access via the north porch with a wheelchair accessible WC there too. The church is of especial interest because of its large medieval wall painting of the life of St Christopher. The church is open every day between 10 am – 5 pm.
