Arthur (1913-1972) served in the RAF in Italy. Vera (1918-2020) was his sister. They had a close relationship.
They both lived in North Shields, Northumberland, during their childhood, but Vera moved down to London in 1961, with her husband, Leslie Fitton (1925-2023).
My paternal side of the family have always kept document of all kinds, from postcards, to letters informing them of redundancy. Because of this I have a long historical record of my grandparents.
This letter was written by Arthur whilst he was stationed in Italy. I have also attached the accompanying photo that Arthur also sent his sister.
