Bankfield Museum VJ/1940s day

A celebration of VJ Day and the 1940s for the whole family will be be held inside Bankfield Museum and the surrounding Akroyd Park on Saturday 16th August. This will feature displays of military vehicles and equipment from the period and demonstrations by historical re-enactors, as well as stalls, entertainers and 1940s costume.

Bankfield Museum is part of Calderdale Museums Service and tells the story of Halifax and Calderdale using its rich and diverse collections. It also houses the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment Museum which tells the story of the local Regiment from its formation in 1702 until amalgamation into the Royal Yorkshire Regiment in 2006.
