Service of thanksgiving and will honour and pay tribute to our Second World War generation.
Join the Mayor of Barrow, Veterans, Service personnel and local Cadets and come together to commemorate Victory over Japan Day on the 80th Anniversary, marking the surrender of Japan and he end of World War.
Other dignitaries include the Deputy Lieutenant of Cumbria, High Sherriff, and local MP.
This short service of approx. 30 minutes at 6pm on 15th August 2025 will be followed by a quarter peal attempt by a local band on the bells of St James.
