The Beaminster branch of the Royal British Legion will be hosting a small event in partnership with Beaminster Town Council to commemorate the end of the conflict with Imperial Japan in 1945, and to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of all who participated in the Pacific Theatre as well as those who worked at home and abroad to bring the Second World War to an end.
The bells of St Mary’s Church, Beaminster, will be rung from 6.30pm on Friday 15th August 2025. This will be followed at 7.10pm by a brief service in Beaminster Town Square attended by members of the Royal British Legion, Beaminster Town Council, as well as other local organisations. It is open to members of the public and will be free to attend.
