Residents of Beccles are set to mark Victory in Europe Day in style on Thursday 8th May with a community celebration steeped in 1940s charm, taking place in New Market, Beccles Town Centre from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
Organised by Beccles Town Council, the event will feature live music and entertainment inspired by the wartime era, with performances from solo singer Charlotte Moore, the Albert Pye Primary School Choir, the Waveney Concert Band, and the lively 1940s-style quartet Doo-Wop.
The evening will also include local food vendors, community group stalls, face painting, and more family activities, making it a night for all generations to enjoy.
At 8.30pm, the event will continue with a civic parade from the town centre to Beccles Quay, where a beacon will be lit in remembrance and celebration of peace in Europe.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and guests are encouraged to don their best 1940s-inspired outfits to add to the atmosphere.
