Black Park Country Park self-guided VE Day trail

Country Parks

Enjoy a self-guided trail at Black Park Country Park to commemorate VE Day. The trail highlights some of the remaining military infrastructure in Black Park and offers the chance to explore the park’s history and contribution to the war effort.

Did you know? Black Park Country Park was originally developed as an ammunition dump where shells for the many anti-aircraft batteries in West London were stored. These were particularly important in defending the airfield in Northolt and the Hawker Hurricane production plant and airfield in Langley. The base was centred on what is now the Open Space and many of the roads and tracks associated with it still exist.
