Children, Families and Friends of the Far East Prisoners of War (COFEPOW) our aims and objectives are to make sure that the FEPOWs, both military and civilian, should always be remembered and to educate the public about the war in the Far East.
The service at Lichfield will, in part, be the Final Thanksgiving Service which was given on Saturday 26 August 1945 held in the Hospital Square, Singapore at 7:45 p.m. Which has been taken from ‘The Churches of The Captivity in Malaya’ by Rev. J N Lewis Bryan MA.
Apart from the service men and women, we will also remember the civilian men, women and children who were held captives for 3 1/2 years – for all those that returned and sadly, for those that didin’t. The service will reflect this.
