A family celebration around the bandstand in the park from 11am to 4pm will include:
- Full size model spitfire
- 1939 Fire Engine
- A ‘Winston Churchill’ character
- Re-enactors to include ‘soldiers’ in Commonwealth uniforms
- Museum Marquee with display of information on ‘local heroes’, artefacts, and general historic information
- Brass band playing tunes from the era
- ‘Wartime’ female singing duet
- Formation/display from the Gurkha regiment
- Family fun activities: face painting etc
- Free tea and cakes served by local scout group
