We are hosting a special community Lunch on the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a Community Street Party with Civic guests The Mayor and Mayoress of South Tyneside.
St. John’s is a friendly church on the Scotch Estate, Jarrow, with a welcoming Community Drop-In Space on Thursdays, our Place of Welcome. A Warm Space in the Winter and offering free family activities in the school holidays we thought it would be a great place to Commemorate and Celebrate this the 80th Anniversary of VE day – so come along and join us for lunch in our grounds at our usual opening time, 11 until 1.
This event is open to everyone and will have a free buffet lunch, hot and cold drinks, war-time (and peace-time) music, bunting, a raffle and all the trimmings! A great place to gather together.
