A FREE Exhibition in All Saints Parish Church Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 7AA as part of the
National VE Day 80th Anniversary Commemorations
THURSDAY 8th May – Exhibition Open 5 – 9pm;
Prayers at the War Memorial on the Village Square 6pm;
All Saints will join the Nation in ringing the church bell at 6.30pm,
and in lighting the Beacon at 9pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
SATURDAY 10th May – Exhibition Open 10am-4pm
11 am & 12 noon – Family storytelling sessions of 30 minutes each with Liz Haskins. 3 – 4pm – An Illustrated Talk entitled ‘Kings Heath, All Saints Church, and the end of WW II’
by local Historian Ian Binnie.
Hear recordings of local people recounting their life experiences during this turbulent time.
SUNDAY 11th May – Eucharist Service 10am with Commemoration Prayers; Exhibition Open 2-4pm.
All are Welcome to this FREE Exhibition in church which shows graphically how the lives of the people of All Saints and Kings Heath Community were affected during World War 11. The Displays offer an insight into how locals responded to the challenges of the period until the cessation of hostilities in Europe on 8th May 1945.
The Church is Open 10am-4pm each day, except during the Main Sunday Service from 10-11.30am
