We will be holding a brief service/prayers at 10.45am in the Walter Parker Memorial Square, in conjunction with the Stapleford Combined Services and Combined Churches, followed by a 2 mins silence at 11am. A bugler will play and bring guests across for coffee & cake, being hosted at the Carnegie Civic Centre. We will note the 2 min silence at 12. A display will be on show at the Centre themed around peace and prayers. White peace cranes is the symbol we are working to, devised by our local Yarn Bombers Group and agreed as a symbol at our Remembrance Working Group.
Later in the day there will be prayers hosted by St Helen’s Church on behalf of the Combined Churches Forum and a bell will toll at St Helens Church at 6.30pm. This in turn will be followed by Beacon Lighting at 8pm at The Cross hosted by the Stapleford Combined Services.
