The Piece Hall’s VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations

The Piece Hall in Halifax is hosting a 1940s-inspired weekend extravaganza to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
There is a fun-filled schedule of singing, dancing, live music, military memorabilia and themed food & drink offerings over the bank holiday weekend of 3-5 May every day from 10am.
You are invited to dress up for the celebration and get fully in the spirit of time as we honour our wartime heroes.

Music and dance line up includes:

Jump, Jive and Wail (Saturday 2.30pm).

Kelly Ann, Cleopatra Ridgeway, Mary Kingsworth and Colin Bourdiec (Sunday).

A VE Day tea dance with Kelly Ann and Cleopatra Ridgeway (Monday).

Plus:

Children’s vintage fun fair rides.

The ‘Halifax Cockleshell Hero’ memorial stand.

The Industrial Museum wartime memorabilia stall.

A mixture of replica and deactivated WW2 weapons and memorabilia from the Living Historians.

A “ration market” selling WW2 items.

1940s hair and make-up (Sunday and Monday).

American baked goods from The Yummy Yank.

Speight’s HMS Halifax Navy Strength Gin.

Street party style seating for takeaway afternoon tea from The Deli and a Pimms offering from the bar.
