VE Day 80th Walk and Talk, Tree Planting and Tea Party

We are holding an officially registered public event to Commemorate both VE Day 80 and War Graves Week.

The event which begins at 2.00 p.m. will include a talk and walk by Local Historian and Volunteer Tour Guide for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Ian Stubbs about our local war dead associated with the final months of the Second World War that are resting in or commemorated on family stones in the cemetery.

This will be followed by a tree planting by a local D Day veteran and Croix de Guerre recipient and local civic dignatories and Friends of the Cemetery.

The day will conclude with a get together tea party and sing along in the former Hebrew Prayer House for all of those involved in the day.

All are welcome and if you have a link with any of the war dead here that you would like to share please get in touch via our Facebook page.
