Here is a list of what’s taking place across Doncaster:

5th May: Delicious Doncaster will join the nation in celebrating VE Day 80, Victory in Europe and honouring the last of a great generation as part of the Great British Food Festival. We will be holding a Big Lunch in the Market Square with the option to bring your own picnic or sample some of the fabulous food available from the Delicious Doncaster food vendors or other delicious options from our City Centre and Wool Market businesses, picnic tables will be available for use. This is a chance to reflect and celebrate what’s remarkable about our communities and the people around us today and to remember that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when we work together, so bring the family along or join friends for a day filled with entertainment and activities

5th May: VE Day 80th Anniversary, Mexborough High Street
8th May: Wadworth VE Day, Village Green, Wadworth
8th May: VE Day 80th Anniversary, Askern Event Field
8th May: VE Day Party, Stainforth Community Centre
8th May: VE Day at the Buttercross, Tickhill
8th May: VE Day Celebrations at Auckley, The Scout Hut, Hurst Lane
10th May: Street Party, Rossington Market Place
10th May: Chequer Road Open Day, Doncaster City Centre
11th May: VE Day Celebration and Craft Fayre, Warmsworth Community Hub
VE Day – Thursday 8 May

On 8 May we’ll commemorate VE Day with a formal observance in Doncaster City Centre. Expected times for these events throughout the day:

8am – Town Crier declaration outside Doncaster’s Mansion House.
11am – Service outside Doncaster’s Mansion House with the Civic Mayor reading the tribute.
12pm – Piper performing on the steps of Doncaster’s Mansion House
