Vintage and Military Amateur Radio Society (VMARS) Commemoration Wireless Nets

We are Radio Amateurs that restore and operate vintage and military wireless equipment including wartime valve radio sets. On Thursday 8th May we will be running special wireless nets on the short wave bands, where if you are licensed you can join our wireless nets and even if you are not licensed, you can still listen on short wave receivers or online with Web Software Defined Receivers (WEB SDR’s). Our timings and frequencies are listed below for the 8th May and our callsign will be M0VMW:

1. 07:00 – 08:00 BST on 3.615 Mhz AM – Low Power transmission wireless net for wartime transmitters, receivers
2. 08:00 – 09:00 BST on 3.615 Mhz AM – Flypast – An Airborne wireless net for wartime transmitters, receivers from such planes as Lancaster, Spitfires, Hurricanes etc.
3 09:00 – 10:00 BST on 3.615 Mhz AM – High power transmission wireless net for wartime base station transmitters and receivers
4. 10:00 – 11:00 BST on 5.259 Mhz CW (Morse Code) – Morse code transmission of Exhortation followed by a morse code wireless net
5. 12:00 – 13:00 BST on 7.073 Mhz LSB – Airborne Wireless net managed from The Netherlands in English for UK participants
6 13:00 – 14:00 BST on 5.317 Mhz AM – Wireless net for all AM stations

Any radio amateur may take part by calling in at these times and modes and any member of public may listen in with a short wave receiver. Further information may be found on our website https://vmars.org/
