Step aboard HMS WELLINGTON for a very special VE Day 80 experience of commemoration, fun and fundraising!

The Wellington Trust is delighted to be part of the national celebrations to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory Europe (VE Day). HMS Wellington was still on Battle of the Atlantic duties off Gibraltar 80 years ago, so we are throwing a wonderful party in her honour that will also support her preservation.
We have a fabulous programme onboard planned, and includes:
- Welcome drinks reception on the quarterdeck
- Screening of significant newsreels from 8 May 1945
- Take the helm! Experience our Battle of the Atlantic AR in our historical wheelhouse
- WI Big Bake onboard with a London-based WI branch
- A sumptuous afternoon tea – with some wartime reminders
- Dancing to live entertainment from 1940’s revival band “The Glenn Miller Style Orchestra”
- Best period dressed guest competition
- Surprise period games and entertainment
- Fundraising raffle with a wonderful array of prizes
- Silent auction for a very special experience onboard
