Friends and neighbours from the Parishes of Aylton & Putley got together at Yew Tree Farm, Aylton where the beacon was lit at 21.30hrs along with a hot toddy made from local cider & perry. Immediately at the lighting of the beacon the Katherine Jenkins version of “I Vow to Thee My Country” sung at the commissioning of the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth was played which gave us all a moment to reflect.
