The letter was in the possession of my Uncle (William John Thompsons Brother). I used to visit him on a regular basis and often talked about his Brother (My Uncle Bill). He showed me the letters that were sent to their Mother. William John was K.I.A le Mesnil Normandy on 8/7/1944 and is buried in Ranville war cemetery. He was in the parachute regiment 6th airborne div. Killed by mortar shell.
