This photo was discovered with other photos when my mum passed away last year. The photo is of VE Day 1945 a street party on Ballamore Road, Downham Estate, South East London. Eileen was Ronald’s pen friend later to be married, the photo with a letter on the back was sent to Ron who was a stoker in the navy in the far east at the time it was sent.
The letter reads: Dear Ron, this is the kids at their victory party hoping you can pick out Maureen, Shirley, Flo and mum love Eileen and all xxxx
