Flight Sgt Bob Bancroft to Mrs C Bancroft

This was a postcard sent to his mother from the Hotel Astoria in Vienna – 20 February 1946.

Flight Sgt Bancroft was a radio operator in the RAF and was in Bari during a lay over whilst En route from Bari via Udine and Budapest to Naples, due to weather 2 days. He stayed in Room 130. They were attached to 512 Squadron and was on the first lift to Bari.

He trained in No.1 Air Crew wing, No 2 Radio School, X27 Unit class D.

Found whilst going through old paperwork to work on the family tree. More written information recorded from around this time but as notes in a loose leaf book and telegrams
