Harry Banks to his family

Harry Banks who fought in WW2 and died in action in September 1944, is the younger brother of my late grandfather David Banks.

The letters were only recently discovered after the passing of my fathers sister my Auntie Brenda who kept the letters in her possession without anybody else knowing about them.
The letters were sent during his time away fighting for his country in Europe and North Africa.

They tell of the day to day life as a soldier and his fond memories of loved ones and his life back in Sheffield especially liked mentioning and asking of his local football team Sheffield United.
