This is a postcard from my father, John Alfred Scearce, to his aunt, Fanny Wakefield (Nee Scearce), while he was a POW in Stalag XXVIIA.
This postcard plus another one was found by my father’s cousin, Elsie Wakefield, who gave them to my 1st cousin once removed, who sent me copies. I have included a photo of my father taken in 1955.
This is the second postcard my father, John Alfred Scearce, sent to his aunt, Fanny Wakefield, in Reading, Berkshire, while he was a POW. This time he had been moved from Stalag XVIIA and was now in Stalag XVIIB.
