Reginald Day to his family

I have a whole collection of letters to and from my Grandad when he was a Prisoner of War at Stalag IVB having been shot down during bomber command initiatives.

Although this letter doesn’t directly link to VE Day it does describe the day his camp was liberated by the Russians and then the Americans. I have all of the letters to and from him during his time at Stalag IVB but this is the most poignant. I also have his flight log book detailing him flying home in a Lancaster. Prior to that records include the newspaper clipping reporting him missing presumed dead, his PoW ID pictures, and home return celebration pictures. He was a member of the Caterpillar Club.
