This is a Forces Mail Victory Greeting written on the 17th March 1946 from my Father who was in the RAF in India. It tells my mother that he will be coming home. On the reverse he says he will be ‘setting off for Bombay about next Sunday, as I have to be there a week on Thursday’. … ‘starting to get hot … now 102 in the shade’.
There is also a postcard sent from the ship he came home on dated 20th April 1946 headed:
H.M.T. ” GEORGIC”
Bombay 14th April 1946
Liverpool 1st May 1946
He had an album of pictures, tickets, brochures and cards, put together after he came home, which I knew well but these were in a separate tin containing significant receipts etc. from their married life together, I found it after they had passed.
