The Post Card is one of three that my grandad sent to my nan after he was captured on the 26th Aug 1944.
I have a bag with a lot of my grandad’s old service records and POW ID cards and old photos in the bottom of our wardrobe. In this bad where a couple of post cards to my nan written in pencil from a German POW camp from my grandad. Also there was a pre populated card that my grandad would have sent to my nan informing her that he had been captured. This was over a month after it was reported he was missing. This must have been a very worrying time for my nan.
My grandad was named Victory as he was born on the 11th of the 11th 1918 at 11:00hrs. I have kept all of his army paperwork as he meant the world to me when he was alive and I will never forget him.
