Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council are working with community groups and local partners to commemorate VE Day.
We have put together community packs including decorative bunting and poster templates, encouraged groups to host Street Parties and organising a Tea Dance celebration to take place between VE and VJ Day.
Schools have been encouraged to take part with history lessons, VE parties and special school menus.
Council staff have been encouraged to join in with celebrations hosting their own parties
Community groups are busy organising bell ringing, tea dances and community days throughout the month of May
Our Borough Parks will be dressed in bunting and encouraging the community to bring a picnic to the park on the 5th May Bank Holiday Monday.
