Albert Lloyd to his family

My dad was born in Rotherhithe, London in 1920 and was called up in 1940 to join the RAF. He was in Southwark Park, very near home on a summer afternoon when the first bombs of the blitz started falling from above! In the RAF he became Corporal Leading Aircraftsman and was stationed in Lichfield OTU27, Honington 9 Squadron, Algeria, North Africa, Egypt, Iraq, Bahrain, Sicily and Italy.

I treasure the originals of these letters together with many more personal archive pieces which he compiled into an album. My dad was a wonderful man. Engineer, musician and role model father. I miss him and think of his wise words and advice every day.
