We found the letter when my great Nans house was being cleared.
The letters were sent from my Grandad (Bernard Ford) who was Far East Prisoner Of War. We found letters, postcards, birthday cards and letters for the war office. There was also a letter from a lady in South Africa who he meet on his way to Singapore.
My Grandad had died when we found the letters so was unable to talk about them with him. Not that he said very much about the war. Most of the letters were written after he was released and waiting to get a boat back home.
Bernard Ford was in the Royal 6th Norfolk regiment private 5780833.
