This is a letter from my Dad to his Mum, Dad and Sister which I found when we were clearing out my parents house after they had passed away. The letter was written on 9th May 1945 and sent from his posting in North Wales, but he was also posted in Poole. His main job was working on disposal of old and unstable ammunitions at sea. He was told by his Officers that the job was too dangerous for danger money payments.
I’m pleased to say he survived the war and passed away aged 86.
The additional photo is of my dad – Monty Northorpe taken in 1940.
