North Tyneside Disability Forum based in Shiremoor North Tyneside, will be commemorating Victory In Europe 80 years on.
We are a disabled persons led charity based in Shiremoor, Charity Number 1182346. We have a Social Supermarket, a community Cafe, a Salon for hair and beauty, Youth Sessions, and a weekly programme of activities as well as Celebratory events.
Our VE Day on Thursday 8th May 2025 will commence at 9.00 am with the raising of the VE Day flag, our choir singing songs with refreshments in our Community Cafe, feasting upon our Celebration Cake. At 12.00 noon folk will gather in our Hall to watch the Bagpipes on Television.
We are hoping to have an outside Street Party Celebration in our Grounds, however if the good old British weather does not play nice, then we have a hall that can hold 120 people, we shall be ticketing our event just for safety and refreshments, oh and lots of cake.
The youth choir and our mature choir will be singing in the afternoon. We shall have entertainment and tales of lives during WWII, read by those that were children at the time.
Our local Reverend will give a blessing
