At our school we will celebrating VE Day by having a special tea party lunch menu and whether permitting have a huge picnic on the school fields. We will also be having a singer the day before to teach the children some wartime songs. We will put bunting around the school as they did during the actual VE Day celebrations in 1945. You could buy the bunting then without using your ration vouchers. We will be coming to school dressed up in war-time clothing or in red, white and blue and learn about why VE day was such an important day in our history and look at different sources from the past.
