From small gatherings with family and friends to larger community events, you can plan your own VE and VJ Day event in your community and at home.
These could include:
- Hosting a street party (be sure to follow the guidance if you’re looking to do this)
- Visiting your local war memorial to pay tribute to those that served (perhaps using IWM’s War Memorials Register to learn about your local war memorial)
- Organising an event for in your community to reflect the lives and sacrifices of those that served, paying tribute to the VE and VJ Day generation
- Hosting a get together at home
